From 2002 HRMC trained community-based oral historians and media practitioners. Our recruitment process is unique; we drew participants from human rights focused NGOs and CBOs that have an interest in oral history and media as a medium for raising awareness and advocacy. The NGOs and CBOs are expected to support their trainees during and after the training courses providing opportunity for skills acquired to be applied.
